What CustomInvoice does
The whole feature set, as it exists in the build being submitted. Nothing on this page is planned, in beta, or coming soon — the things that are not built yet are listed at the bottom instead.
Documents issued by your own business
- Invoices for work you have done, estimates or quotes before you start, and sale receipts you hand over on the spot
- Every document carries your business name and address as the issuer, and goes to your own client
- Line items with quantities and rates, with the total updating as you type
- Your own numbering: set the prefix and the starting number, with a separate sequence for each document type
- A number is never reused once issued, even if you void the document that used it
- Save a client once and reuse them, or add one without leaving the invoice you are writing
PDFs your client will take seriously
- Three templates: Classic, Modern and Minimal
- Your logo and your brand colour on every page, from a palette picked for legibility, or a colour of your own
- No watermark on any page, on any template
- Send by email straight from the app, or push it through the share sheet
- The PDF travels through your own mail app or share target, never through us
- A document is marked as sent only when you say it went out
Getting paid, and seeing who has not paid
- Record as many part payments as you need against one invoice, and watch the balance fall
- Paid, part paid, outstanding and overdue are computed from the payment record every time they are shown, never stored
- The documents list shows what is still owed on a part-paid invoice and how late an overdue one is
- Balance due is the figure that stands out, on screen and on the printed document
- Mark as sent, void and delete are reachable from a button on each row
- Voiding keeps the document and its number in your records instead of erasing the history
Tax and discounts that add up
- Named tax rates that you create, applied per line, so taxable labour and exempt materials bill correctly on one job
- Discount a single line, or the whole document
- Every amount is a whole number of cents and every quantity a whole number of thousandths
- Line totals are rounded individually and then summed, so the total equals the column your client is reading down
Reports, and something to hand your accountant
- What you are owed, and how much of it is late
- Aging buckets, so you can see how late
- Billed and collected by month
- CSV export of your documents and your payments
Private by design
- No account, no login, no cloud sync
- Your clients, your rates and your documents are written to your device and never uploaded
- Writing a document, rendering the PDF and recording a payment all work with the radio off
- No bank connection and no card processing, in this version or any future one
- Anonymous, bucketed usage counts that never carry an amount, a client name, or any document content
- Light or dark, and the app remembers which you chose
What it does not do
Worth knowing before you download, rather than after.
- No import of any kind. There is no spreadsheet import, no file import and no migration from another app. Data travels out as CSV, not in.
- No thermal or 80mm receipt template. There are three templates, not four.
- No reminders. The app will not chase an overdue invoice for you, and sends no notifications at all.
- No backup-and-restore file. CSV is a report for your accountant, not a restorable backup, so the phone is the only copy of your live records.
- No printing from the preview, and no second share button there. Sending has exactly one path, which is what makes "sent" mean something.
- No recurring or repeating invoices.
- No iPad layout. The app installs on an iPad in compatibility mode, as an iPhone-shaped window.
- No Android release, and no Google Play listing.
- No multi-business support, no per-document currency, no time tracking, no expenses and no purchase orders.
- No payment processing. You can put a "pay me here" line in your payment instructions, but the app does not take money.
- No tax filing and no jurisdiction lookup. It records the rates you enter and reports what you collected.
CustomInvoice is nearly here
It is built, and being prepared for the App Store. Leave an address and you will hear from us once, on the day it lands.
One email, about this, and nothing else. There is no mailing list to add you to — the message goes to a person at info@customapps.us.
